Uche Ogbodo speaks on crashed marriage, says she's willing to try again

Actress Uche Ogbodo, whose marriage to Atto Ubby crashed after just one month, says she's open to giving marriage another try but this time, with her eyes wide open.

Uche, who gave birth to a baby girl a few months back, said there is no possibility of reconciling with her ex husband. Speaking with Encomium magazine, Uche said;

"Bygone is Bygone. I am open to anything. I will be hopeful but I am not ready. I am taking a long break but I wouldn't close my eyes to the possibility of marriage. I will shine my eyes next time"

Uche also talked about the best thing about being a mother

"The Unconditional love and Unquestionable love. This is someone loving you unconditionally. It is quite difficult to explain the love between mother and child" she said

She also talked about the many scans she did when she was pregnant in the US...

"The first scan said I had twins but along the way, one did not grow. I had another scan it was still a boy, then another it was still a boy. Not until I got to America that the scan said it was a girl. All through I was having different dreams. In the dream, it was a baby girl I was seeing. Someone even wanted to give me a girl in the dream but I rejected it. I didn't buy baby things until I was seven months. Even at that I bought Unisex things" she said

Gunmen open fire inside parliament building in Ottawa, Canada

Multiple gunmen stormed the Canadian Parliament complex and the National War Memorial in Ottawa around 10am this morning Wednesday October 22nd and started shooting at people. One soldier was killed (at the Canadian war memorial). According to eye witnesses, a gunman came down from a car, walked up to the soldier and shot him dead. One of the shooters was later killed by police.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper had to be evacuated from the government building, which is currently on lock down. Schools and the US embassy are also on lock down in Ottawa. No one/group has claimed responsibility for what's going on there right now.

Wednesday morning's gunfire in the main Canadian Parliament building started in the foyer, and a second round of shooting happened about a minute later in a hallway or near the entrance to the Parliament's library, Ottawa journalist Josh Wingrove told CNN.

He said several officers had weapons drawn, and most of the dozens of shots that he heard appeared to have been fired by officers at the gunman.

When the shooting ended, a person was lying motionless on the ground near the library entrance, Wingrove said.

There were "numerous gunmen" Wednesday morning at the Canada War Memorial shooting, said Marc Soucy of the Ottawa Police Service. Authorities are working to figure out if there were two or three gunmen, he said. Only one person was shot, Soucy said.

There were "several shooting incidents in downtown Ottawa" on Wednesday morning, police said on Twitter. "Incidents occurred at National War Memorial, near the Rideau Centre and Parliament Hill." All Ottawa police buildings remain on lockdown and are closed to the public, police also said on Twitter.

There were two soldiers standing guard at the war memorial in Ottawa near Parliament, and a gunman shot one of them, a witness told CNN on Wednesday. Peter Henderson, a journalist, said other soldiers doing drills nearby ran to help the fallen soldier. Henderson said he knew the person shot was a soldier because of the ceremonial uniform the soldier was wearing.

Meet the dogs that viciously attacked 4 year old Omonigho Abraham inside his compound in the Igando area of Lagos state on September 25th (read story here).

The Lagos State Police Command paraded the two German shepherd dogs yesterday at its headquarters in Ikeja,Punch reports. According to the police, the dogs were paraded "so that the public would be convinced that they were still in police custody, and had not been released as was being rumoured." Really? Continue...

Speaking about it, the Commissioner of Police, Cornelius Aderanti, said;

"We have brought the dogs out so that the public would know that they are still in police custody. They have been examined and they show no negative trait. It is only the court that will decide what happens to them. The police cannot decide to kill the dogs.”

Am I the only one who finds this weird? Anyway, the little victim, Omo, had asked that the dogs be killed but the police say it's up to the courts. Meanwhile the owner of the dogs, Stanley Wesley, was arrested and arraigned in court for negligence but has since been granted bail.

This Woman Rips Apart ATM machine with bare hands after it didn't dispense cash [Photos]

All i can say is that this woman is really strong...Dismantling the ATM machine with her bare hands? she must be a warrior......  A Chinese woman angrily dismantled an ATM machine with her bare hands after she couldn't withdraw money. The incident  happened in a shopping mall where  the woman stood next to the ATM mumbling to herself, pounding on the machine.“She also mumbled to herself that the ATM was her friend’s and that it’s was okay for her to break it.”

“After dismantling the machine, she even stood there as if nothing had happened, but was then taken back to the police station once police arrived,.. At the time, the woman’s manner of speaking and bearing both seemed not quite normal, so employees did not go forward to stop her, and only called the police as well as notify the bank to come and deal with the situation.


 According to Chinasmack, Police reached her family in Guangxi through her mobile phone, and the party on the other end claimed to be the woman’s younger brother. The other party said on the phone that his sister suffers from mental problems, and that

“she’s like everyone else when she has her medication, but if she doesn’t take it, then she’ll have an episode. When that happens, she won’t even know what she’s doing.”

                                            

 Shilong Police state that they preliminarily suspect the woman suffers from mental problems, have already taken her to the Dongguan Mental Hospital for examination, and are awaiting a diagnosis before they process the case further.

UNILORIN becomes The first University in Nigeria to be ranked among Africa’s top 20

A Nigeria university among the first 20 university in Africa? Wow!! That is a welcome development........The Vice-Chancellor the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu Ambali, has announced that for the first time in history, a Nigerian university was ranked 20th in Africa and 1,842nd in the world.

"I am happy to restate that a remarkable thing happened to the Nigerian university system this year, courtesy of UNILORIN.

“For the first time since ranking began, a Nigerian university was ranked among the best 2,000 universities in the world", he said.

The professor of veterinary medicine, who spoke with reporters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on the institution’s 30th convocation lecture, said the latest ranking of international colleges and universities placed the university first in Nigeria, 20th in Africa and the 1,842nd in the world.

He said, “Though we are not satisfied to occupy the position we are on the global stage until we are ranked within the best 200, the achievement of the university will be underscored when it is realised that 11,307 colleges and universities are sampled in the ranking in 200 countries.

“The United States alone, not to talk of other advanced countries, has much more that 3,000 universities.

“The modest work being done at the university has made it the darling of admission applicants in Nigeria; the university was the eighth most preferred in 2011 and fifth most preferred in 2012.

“Last year, we became the 2nd most preferred university in Nigeria and this year we became the number one choice of applicants with over 105,000 applicants, the second most preferred university having 74,000 applicants.”

On his achievements, Ambali disclosed that: “We have embarked on 10,000 hectares of oil palm plantation. We all know that the Malaysian economy relies much on oil palm and there is a report that they took the seed from Nigeria a few decades ago.

“However, our country imports about 500,000 metric tonnes of palm oil annually while Malaysia exported about 24 trillion metric tonnes of palm oil in 2012 to the United States, the European Union, China and India.

“The export earned the country some 20 billion pound sterling (about N5.314 trillion).”

The VC put the number of graduating students at 6,328, with 5,438 getting first degrees and 890 higher degrees/diploma.

Shocking: Dumped Woman spends 1week eating chicken wings at fastfood [Photos]

Some people do desperate things during the time of Breakup. How do you cope with a breakup? This Chinese woman spent an entire week in a KFC eating fried chicken wings after being dumped by her boyfriend because she ‘needed time to think’.

Lovesick Tan Shen, 26, went to the fast food chain in search of some comfort food to get over the break-up.

But seven days later Tan was still ordering chicken wings with a side of extra large fries at the KFC near a train station by her home.
                                        

Tan said:

‘I was walking around feeling miserable and decided to stop off at the KFC at the train station.I hadn’t planned on staying there long, I just wanted some chicken wings.But once I got in there and started eating I decided I needed time to think.I  didn’t want to go back to my apartment because it was full of memories of him. So I stayed.'

 After a few days employees at the chicken shop began to worry about Tan.Worker Jiang Li Lung, 22, said:

'We work in shifts here and the restaurant is open 24 hours a day, so we get a lot of people coming through.'At first no one really noticed her.'But after a few days I began thinking she looked really familiar.
'Then I realised we had been serving her for the past three days and that she hadn’t actually left.
'When we asked her if she was ok, she said she was and just needed time to think.    

                                                

Tan decided she had had enough when local media turned up after a week at the KFC. And, unsurprisingly, she was starting to get sick of the taste of chicken. 

'I decided the best thing to do would be to leave the city and go back to my parents.'I had already told work I was off sick, so phoned them and said I was leaving.
'And I was getting sick of the taste of chicken so there was no point in staying there anymore.'

                                         

She then boarded the next train to her parents' home in Quingdao city in east China’s Shandong Province and left.

OMG!! See what This Guy Found in his Cup of Coffee

I feel like vomiting.. Ewww!! A Canadian man is claiming he found this dead rat, pictured below, in his McDonald’s coffee – after he finished drinking it.

Made you want to purge, right? According to Ron Morais, he had bought the cup of Mc Donald coffee on Monday and drank it while on his way to work, but had to stop when he got to the last sip. Morais told CBC:

“I always take the lid off to get my last sip of coffee. And when I took the lid off, there

was a little bit of a surprise in my coffee cup. It was a dead mouse.”

He then showed it to his co-workers who were also in disbelief.

“Unless I hadn’t been there and seen Ron drink all that coffee down to the last drop, I would have been like ‘You’re lying,’” Brad Peterson, one of Morais’ colleagues, told CBC.

There were also droppings swimming in the dregs of the coffee, Mr Morais claimed, adding that he felt “queasy” as the realisation hit him. He now wants to find out how the rodent got into his cup and hopes it does not happen to anybody else.

However, McDonald’s Canada said there was “no evidence of pests” in the location Morais bought his coffee.

Boko Haram fails to obey stated date to release kidnapped Chibok girls

The whole world have being waiting for this...According to report,the girls were to be released on Monday 20th. But nothin happened......Hassan Tukur, a close adviser to Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, and Danladi Ahmadu, who calls himself the secretary-general of Boko Haram, have told VOA’s Hausa-language service that the girls are to be released Monday in Chad.

Ahmadu said the other girls are alive and “in good condition and unharmed.”

The two sides had reached the agreement Friday October 17th at talks in Saudi Arabia that involved Chadian President Idriss Deby and high-level officials from Cameroon.

The VOA sources say the girls will be handed over to Chadian President Deby for transfer to Nigerian authorities.

They also say Nigerian and Boko Haram delegates will meet in the Chadian capital, N’Djamena, to discuss Boko Haram’s demands, such as the release of imprisoned militants.

 Earlier, Nigeria’s chief of defense staff, General Alex Badeh, issued an order to all military chiefs, telling them “to comply with the cease-fire agreement between Nigeria and Boko Haram in all theaters of operations.”

The cease-fire marks a possible end a five-year insurgency in which several thousand Nigerians have been killed.
